Jab Tak Hai Jaan nets Rs 12.50 cr on first day at box office

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan netted around Rs 12.50 crore in its first day of release on Tuesday. Jab Tak Hai Jaan's first-day collections fall short of Ra.One's debut figures, a Shah Rukh Khan starrer which was released last year.
The release of Son of Sardaar on the same day and the Diwali festivities might have hurt Jab Tak Hai Jaan's collections.
Also starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, Jab Tak Hai Jaan performance at single screen theatres was weaker than at multiplexes. Jab Tak Hai Jaan's first-week collections are expected to be strong due to the extended weekend.
The last directorial venture of Yash Chopra, the film has also brought together AR Rahman and Gulzar. Yash Chopra died last month, days after finishing the film.
In comparison, Son of Sardaar pulled in around Rs 8.50 crore in its first day of release at the box office, according to early estimates.
Son of Sardaar managed to pull ahead of Jab Tak Hai Jaan in some circuits like Bihar and East of Punjab, according to early estimates.

iPad Mini: Review hands on

The BUILT:Lighter and thinner than we'd thought when watching the Keynote, the iPad Mini fits comfortably in one hand. It shows. The rounded edges are reminiscent of the widely loved iPhone 3G and it feels durable enough to sling in a bag.
It's 7.2mm thin (23% thinner than the big iPad) and 308g (Wi-Fi-only model) light.
The SCREEN:
The LED-backlit screen looks fantastic on the 7.9-inch display. Colours are vivid, text is pin sharp, web pages render quickly and, because there's almost a 4:3 ratio going on, you get a lot of content on page.

The CAMERA:
The back-facing 5MP iSight camera is similar to what we've seen on bigger iPads. Taking pictures or video is easier with one hand, purely because of the Mini's size. In the wild, it's much more manageable than the iPad. Still shots that we took were ok, but 1080p video is more impressive.

iPad Mini Battery:
Apple claims 10-hours and we hope it's close. The third-gen iPad suffered because of the sheer amount of processing power happening and, for the iPad Mini to succeed as a mobile device, battery life will need to be close to what Apple is claiming

iPad Mini release date:

Pre-order starts: October 26.
Buy from 8am on November 2 (WiFi-only)
Wi-Fi + Cellular models available late November

iPad Mini price: From £269

The amazing iPhone 5:

Apple has quoted "Making a thinner, lighter iPhone meant even the display had to be thinner. Apple engineers accomplished that by creating the first Retina display with integrated touch technology. Which means instead of a separate layer of touch electrodes between display pixels, the pixels do double duty — acting as touch-sensing electrodes while displaying the image at the same time. With one less layer between you and what you see on iPhone 5, you experience more clarity than ever before. All on a display that’s 30 percent thinner than before."

The Apple iPhone 5 is finally here, with the latest arrival boasting a 16:9, 4-inch screen, new smaller port, thinner, lighter design and 4G LTE.

The iPhone 5's camera is smaller, hardier and enhanced by the more powerful chip, and the front-facing camera is bumped up to a 720p version.

The device will be available in black and white. It will be available for $199, $299 and $399 for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models, respectively.

The iPhone 5 is a vast improvement over the iPhone 4S and it’s sure to be another great and reliable Apple product. However, it is no longer the most technologically advanced phone.

Review of Blackberry Bold Touch 9900:

This time the reputed mobile brand BlackBerry releases a qwerty keypad smartphone with a 1.2GHz

processor, an HD camera, a new OS and a very good touch display; The BlackBerry Bold Touch

9900. The Bold 9900 is undoubtedly the sleekest and smartest looking Blackberry phone they have

released till date. It has an extensive form factor reminiscent of the Bold 9000, but is slimmer and has

a classier finish.

The phone is equipped with an 8GB of built-in storage memory and the microSD slot expandable to

32GB or more. It has a 5MP camera which can record 720p HD videos. The 2.8-inch display is a

touchscreen in itself, and has a resolution of 640x480 pixels. The 1230 mAh battery powering the

1.2GHz processor is obviously never going to be enough, and it shows as it. Moderately used and you

need to charge it before leaving for office the next morning! Essentially, one day and a bit more of

battery life is much weaker than its predecessors.

Price: Rs 32,490

User Review of The iPhone 4S:

Though the fans of apple waited so long for the iPhone 5 to come out, the apple had other plans and disappointed most of them by releasing the iPhone 4S that anyone did not anticipate! The iPhone 4S which is so similar to the iPhone 4 comes with certain modifications and upgrades that are listed below:

  • The former comes with a solid build and comfortable to hold design.
  • The 5MP camera makes way for the 8MP one, with 1080p video recording and video stabilization.
  • The iPhone 4S’s battery lasts a bit longer than the iPhone 4, with 3G turned off.
  • Display: 3.5-inch LED IPS with 640x960 pixel resolution;
  • Battery: 1432mAh
Prices of iPhone 4S in India:
iPhone 4S (16GB- black or white)- Rs 44,500 (Airtel) and Rs 44,500 (Aircel)
iPhone 4S (32GB- black or white)- Rs 50,900 (Airtel) and Rs 50,900 (Aircel)
iPhone 4S (64GB- black or white)- N.A. at the moment (Airtel) and Rs 57,500 (Aircel)

Review of Motorola Razr...

The Motorola Razr is slim for the most parts, it thickens up considerably towards the top where the 8MP camera and the speakerphone sit but you won't be touching that part anytime.  The 7.1mm thickness gives you the thin feel as no other phone. It has a 4.3-inch display i.e., same as the HTC Sensation XE or the Samsung Galaxy SII, but the bezel around the display makes it the thickest among these three. The Motorola Razr is an absolute delight to use though it has the same qHD resolution as the display on the HTC Sensation XE - 540x960 pixels, and is more than the Galaxy SII - 480x800 pixels, it feels significantly better than the other two in terms of how it handles colors!
Some specifications of Motorola Razr in brief:

  • OS =  Android 2.3.5;
  •  RAM: 1GB;
  • Camera: 8MP with 1080p HD videos
  • 1.3MP video call camera;
  • Storage: 16GB internal + microSD slot;
  • Battery: 1780 mAh
The Price of Motorola Razr is: Rs. 35,990

Review of Samsung galaxy S3

The all new Samsung Galaxy S 3 comes with a body dimension of 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm, which is a pack in a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen and scales a weight of 133g only. The S3 has more in common with the original Galaxy S than the Galaxy S2 with the more neat and curvy looks. However its look more importantly resembles the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with its rounded edges and excellent screen.

  • The Samsung Galaxy S3 camera is a wonderful 8 Megapixels
  • It also has a 1.2MP camera on the front of the phone for some decent personal snaps, plus 720p video recording capability
  • The battery ranging between1650mAh to 2100mAh is upgraded with a promise of a much larger capacity and therefore longer life.
  • Some special features include  4.8-inch Super AMOLED+ HD screen, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, 64GB internal memory, eye tracking and many more...

Review of HTC Explorer

Explorer is a budget handset aimed at first-time smartphone users, with a focus on keeping things simple and easy to use that is given with a sturdy structure and rubber outfit material. The HTC Explorer comes with all the usual smartphone features, that has a 3-megapixel camera, GPS feature, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and access to the Android Market which allows to use thousands of apps and games for free.
Though the screen is just at 3.2" with a small 320x480 resolution in practice was found bright and colourful in use.
One of the drawbacks of the HTC Explorer is that Battery doesnt last long when using apps and games.

Review of HTC Evo 4G LTE

The special features that one would like about HTC Evo 4G LTE are:

  • owerful parts,
  • a lovely screen,
  • stunning design and
  • an excellent camera
The worse part of the phone is the Evo 4G LTE won't actually run 4G but it will be 3G only.
HTC Evo 4G LTE has a beautiful body of 5.31 inches tall by 2.72 inches wide, there's no denying that this new Evo is a handful. At just 0.35 inch thick, though, the phone is a hair thinner than the One X.
The screen is at 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 (1,280x720-pixel) display and the HTC Evo 4G LTE comes with a nifty kickstand.
The Evo 4G LTE has 1GB of RAM memory, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD slot that is expandable up to 32GB so this is one of the most beneficial part of the phone too as compared to others like the iPhone.
The front facing camera has 1.3 Megapixels that is good enough for little snaps and video chatting and an excellent rear camera that 8 megapixels with flash.
At last HTC Evo 4G LTE's 2,000mAh battery is providing 7.5 hours of talk time.

  • It is 8.7mm thick in the middle, which gradually becomes 10mm at both ends
  • three thin Android navigational buttons – back, home and menu in the front which has a  rubbery feeling to them when pressed and are very easy to operate.
  • The camera sensor is placed in  the upper edge on the back which is quite uncomfortable while shootig.

NOKIA LUMIA 800

Nokia has come up with Windows OS having latest Mango update. The Windows phone software supports number of features and we can access them simultaneously, thus it handles multi-tasking. It was a good idea that Nokia has discarded its Symbian phone and has come up with Windows

iPhone 4 User Review

The release of iPhone 4 by apple sparked a sensational breakthrough in the field of smart phones. The iPhone 4 is a known for its physical sleek look that differed from its previous versions and it achieved the love and appreciation of millions of people around the world. This iPhone was packed with lots of updates and better features than the iPhone 3 and iPhone 3GS. The features and its reviews after the usage are:

  • The Look of iPhone 4: The iPhone 3 and 3GS has a more thickness as compared to the iPhone 4 due to its curved round back and the later has a very sleek looking straight back with higher sophistication.
  • The Display: The high definition version of smart phone came into being with the iPhone 4 with its feature called 'Retina Eye Display'. This gives the iPhone 4 better screen display that is very to easy to the eye to view and viewer friendly.
  • The Camera: The camera of iPhone 4 is one of the most appreciated new feature from iPhone 3 as the 5MP camera comes with an LED flash and a VGA front camera.
  • The FaceTime: The face time feature is also a new feature of the iPhone 4 which offers the video chatting facility on iPhone 4 and it really is an amazing feature.
  • The Multi Tasking feature: The multi tasking feature of iPhone 4 is characterized by its fast app switching capability unlike the previous versions which can not afford high load of applications at a time.
  • Battery life: The battery life of iPhone 4 is not at all different from that of its previous versions and it totally depends on how much you do. The standby life of battery is about 30-40 hours while its audio play life is about 10 hours. The battery still needs to improve from its current state of performance in 3G and gaming.

iPhone 3GS User review

The cheapest range of iPhone series is the iPhone 3GS which is retailed in India at around 20K rupees. But honestly speaking there are quite a lot of short comings of this iPhone model. Though the iPhones are of the most desired smart phones in this era, the quick switch of upgrading in the model of iPhone itself is creating all the short comings.
Honest Reviews of my Experience with iPhone 3GS:

  • Like any apple product, the iPhone 3GS is also a superb music playing device and the battery life very good for music.
  • Since the price tag is affordable, this is also an advantage.
  • The screen sense is very good and easy to handle.
  • The iPhone 3GS like other models of iPhone has poor battery life for web browsing and playing games, videos...
  • Lack of flash, face time, low MP of camera makes it unworthy of paying around 20K for which any other brand can fetch one of their bests...
  • The iOS5 which is said to be compatible with iPhone 3GS is not fully true. The OS crashes so often at certain limit of battery and need to reset so often.
  • Since the memory of this model is limited to 8GB, this is one of most undesirable feature of the model which restricts the user at a very low limit.
